Baraonda

Baraonda

The Project

Curated by artist Gianni Politi and Mario Valerio Nocenzi, Baraonda calls together a select group of artists from the capital city but of national resonance in order to inhabit, animate and transform the hotel’s spaces for two intense and stimulating days of artistic performances. The hotel’s venues accommodate works of art in the making, creating an entirely new immersive aesthetic experience. Baraonda is graceful chaos with a mission: to reveal, engage, surprise, and amplify. The spirit that moves it is unrepeatable, nonconforming, untamable.
Protagonist of Baraonda was a group of artists working in different artistic and experimental fields, from perfoming art to poetry, music and visual arts: from tattoo artist Scarful who will make himself available for a walk-in tattoo session with a scorpion theme, the symbol of the art review, to the intimate nocturnal readings of critic Salvatore Lacagnina and poet Jahan Khajavi, via the installations of artists Diego Gualandris, Vega Collective, Giovanni de Cataldo & Dario Carratta, Lucrezia de Fazio, Andrea Mauti and Emiliano Maggi, Dr Pira; not only art but also music with DJ sets by Gady Laga, Vostok Lake, Opium Child, Thunder Tillman & Francisco and Miniera.

W Hotels

Last year, W Hotels had no presence in Italy, but that changed when the highly anticipated W Rome opened in December. Located on Via Liguria, the facility is in a very quiet area, despite being above the famous Via Veneto. The property is spread over two adjacent 19th-century buildings, connected by the lobby, and has 162 accommodations. Meyer Davis Studio’s incredible design pays homage to the Italian aesthetic while infusing a playful spirit that is intrinsic to the DNA of W. Bright colors, contrasts, and bold textures characterize both the accommodations, sumptuous marble bathrooms, and common spaces. Guests have access to a 24-hour gym with fitness classes, a small rooftop pool, and a variety of dining options, including Otto Rooftop, Zucchero x Fabrizio Fiorani, Giardino Clandestino, and Giano Ristorante, which revisits Sicilian cuisine with a modern twist.
