A special evening of art and fashion at the nymphaeum of Palazzo Borghese and the spaces of Galleria del Cembalo, where Max Mara’s extraordinary heritage was showcased through the exhibition of garments from “The Camelocracy,” the Max Mara Fall – Winter 2023 collection. The garments on display drew inspiration from 18th-century fashion and the figure of Émilie du Châtelet and other women like her-an army of pioneers dubbed precisely “Camelocracy.”
The launch event
About 200 guests arrived at the enchanting nymphaeum of Palazzo Borghese, one of the most inaccessible places in Rome, and then visited the spaces of the historic Cembalo Gallery, with its splendid rooms full of frescoes and timeless charm. Along with the Max Mara creations, two photographs by artist William Wegman, who returned to collaborate with Max Mara by paying homage to the iconic Teddy Coat, which turned 10 years old in 2023, were displayed. The exhibition was accompanied by a live set by the manouche jazz band Four On Six Band, then a DJ set by Scilla Ruffo of Calabria. Fashion, art and music made for a magical event, of which Max Mara’s iconic garments were the precious common thread.
